Adwords Campaign in 5
Steps
In the pay per click
search
marketing world Google Adwords is king. They offer the best quality
traffic and the highest quantity. A lot of marketers struggle with
their campaign success. Some give up too soon not realizing that when
used correctly, Google Adwords is an extremely powerful marketing
network, That can bring you a generous ROI.
I have assembled a short article to help you build a successful Adwords
campaign in 5 steps. Let's not delay any longer here are your five
steps to a successful Adwords campaign.
1. Finding a marketable product
2. Targeting the right keywords
3. Writing ad copy that pulls
4. Implementing effective bidding strategies
5. Google Analytics, tracking, testing and tweaking
Finding
a Marketable Product
Some of you might already have a product to sell. If so I hope you did
your research and made sure that there is a demand for your product
online. Some ways in which you can do this is think of which keywords a
searcher might type in Google to search for your product or service.
When you have a few keywords and phrases thought out get Goodkeywords
and use the Adwords keyword tool. Your keywords are crucial to a
successful Adwords campaign.
If you don't have your own product yet, you can sign up to an affiliate
network or choose from thousands of independent affiliate programs that
will supply you with all sorts of products or guides to
market.
You may understand the reasons for marketing a product but
might
be asking yourself why the hell would I
want to market a guide and who is going to want to buy one? Information
sells online. True, there is a lot of free information available all
over the net but on a lot of topics to go beyond basic or primer
material usually involves purchasing a guide or signing up to a
membership. I highly recommend Click Bank-- and cj.com. Click Bank for
an amazing selection of e books over 10 thousand covering all kinds of
topics. Some of them come with incredible bonuses and features.
One way of knowing if the Clickbank products are good sellers is by
looking at the gravity of the guide when viewing the listing.
High gravity means more marketers are advertising the product. If there
is a lot of people marketing it must be making money. this is not to
say that a product with lower gravity won't make money. The higher the
gravity the more competition. Remember a great product is crucial to a
successful Adwords campaign.
Targeting
the Right Keywords
Keywords are the queries a searcher types in while searching for
products or information. The general rule with keywords the more
specific and targeted the better the conversion ratio (better the item
sells). The general keywords might receive a higher search volume but
won't convert into sales as well as specific keywords.
A campaign is like a recipe it requires experimenting, testing and
adjusting. With this in mind you want to put together the right
combination of keywords. Focus on a lot of specific keyword terms also
put some effort into listing yourself on general keyword terms also. If
you were selling Kitchen cutlery online a general keyword term would be
"knife". A specific keyword term would be "serrated steak knife red"
General - pans. Specific - "Steelworx cast iron frying pan".
Good Keywords is a tool that will help you come up with lots of
specific and general keyword terms for all sorts of markets. you type
in a search phrase and it will give you related keyword terms and their
search volumes (how many times keyword phrase has been searched in
previous month) you can dig through the related search terms to come up
with more and more. You should also think of your own keyword terms
also. What do you think a customer would type into the search field to
find the products or service you are selling?
You can type these into Good Keywords also and it might bring you some
related searches. Good Keywords has so many other uses also for
building Keyword phrases, there is also google's tool to help you build
search phrases Google has worked hard and recently improved their
search tool. Using both Google's Keyword tool and Good Keywords will
really help boost your chances for a successful Google
Adwords
campaign. Another technique to help you discover possible keywords is
to look at your competitors meta tags on their website to see what
keywords they are targeting in the natural search listings. Do this by
choosing 'View' at the top of your web browser, and then choose 'Page
Source'. Look for the meta tag titled keywords it will look something
like this <meta name="keywords" content="example keyword">
Writing
Ad copy That Pulls in Visitors
This is a very crucial part of any successful adwords campaign. What
good is an ad if it doesn't get any clicks. Also if your ads pull
badly, Google will penalize you. If you can write effective ad copy you
will pull in visitors. One technique that works - play on the searchers
emotions while at focusing on the benefits of your product or service.

Implementing
Effective Bidding Strategies
Basically, your goal should be to land on the first page of Google. In
some markets might be very expensive to do this. If this is the case
start out bidding low and keep split testing your ads. Keep playing
with your ad and landing page to make them both as relevant
as
possible. If your ad pulls well your "quality score" will increase.
This will help your ad position to increase without
increasing
your bid. If you can afford the first page you don't necessarily need
the top positions.Sometimes the last 5 positions will convert better
than the top positions. Don't get into bidding wars against
your
competitors this will drive up costs. Figure out the worth of every
visitor to your site. If you have 2 sales per 100 visitors and you
profit $25 per sale than your visitors are worth $0.50 each. 2 sales x
$25/100 visitors =$0.50. Remember to keep profit in mind while bidding.
If a visitor is worth $0.50 and you want to double your money your
maximum bid would be $0.25.
Google
Analytics, Tracking, Testing and Tweaking
Google has a free Analytics program that will help you track all of
your campaign efforts. This program will show you where your
visitors are coming from and who is buying. When you are
armed
with this information you can really adjust your efforts to pull in as
many sales as possible and get rid or adjust keywords and campaigns
that don't perform. You will have to test all of your efforts
if
you want a successful Adwords campaign. Track your results, always test
your efforts and tweak your efforts as you feel appropriate.
Learn how to use Google's Conversion tracker so you know how well your
campaigns are converting. This is a powerful tool that can tell you
which keywords are brining in the sale and what your ROI is on any
campaign, adgroup or even down to the keyword level.
Adwords has a great feature for split testing your ads. I recommend you
always split test 2 ads. When one ad does better than the
other
ad either edit or drop the losing ad and keep the winner. Write another
ad to replace the losing ad and start the split test again.
Learning to understand this information and using it to make your
campaigns stronger is extremely important for a successful Adwords
campaign.
